There are various types of hunger. It is our desire to not only feed the stomache, but feed the soul.
Things we get asked a lot.
How many meals per person?
One meal per person present. If you need more than one meal we have the opportunity for you to serve alongside us in specific roles (before, during, or after) to receive an extra meal.
What should I expect when I show up?
- Delicious food! A restaurant quality hot meal cooked fresh by Chef Dylan and a fanatic crew of volunteers.
- A long line. But don’t worry, everyone makes friends in line. It’s part of our thing. Say hi to the neighbor in line next to you.
- Name tags, People who care to know your name.
- Music!
- A shared table. We love having divers
Can I still come if I don’t need the meal?
Absolutely! We think that our tables being socio-economically diverse is part of the magic of Neighbor Nights. These relationships allow for social capital to be built.
What types of meals do you serve?
We serve a little bit of everything. Chef Dylan curates our menus and we always announce what we are serving the Sunday before.
Can FTL help with other needs besides food?
Yes! We are always happy to connect neighbors to other resources they may need.
If I don’t have a team to sign up with can I still serve?
Yes! Grab one of the individual spots and come join us!
Is childcare available?
No, Neighbor Nights are a family event but we do not offer childcare. We want your family to enjoy dinner together!
Are you open on holidays?
Yes, we do not close for any holidays. If a Neighbor Night lands on a holiday you can expect us to celebrate even bigger that week.
Do you cancel for bad weather?
The only time we cancel for weather is if its lightning after our volunteers have arrived on site at 4 PM. We do not cancel for rain or snow but always be sure to keep an eye on our social media on days that there is bad weather.
Why does everyone wear name tags?
We believe that knowing someone’s name is the first step in building a friendship. We want neighbors to get to know other neighbors in line, to build friendships. Wearing name tags makes this one step easier.
Is there an income qualification to receive meals?
No, we will not ask any qualifying questions to receive a meal. We want Neighbor Nights to be as dignifying as possible for everyone.
